A new business. A logo, a website, and the first jobs booked. Five days.
A crane operator who wanted out of the industry. A diesel mechanic's trade gathering dust. We did the keyword research to find the right business opportunity, he chose pre-purchase vehicle inspections, and within five days the business existed and was generating work.

The situation
The client came to us with a specific problem: he was a crane operator who wanted out of the industry. He had a diesel mechanic's trade and years of hands-on experience with vehicles, but no business and no clear idea of what to do with those skills commercially.
His question wasn't "fix my ads." It was: "What business should I start?"
That's not a question most agencies will touch. It requires actual market knowledge, keyword data, and a willingness to tell someone something they might not want to hear. We told him what we saw in the data.
What we were working with
We pulled keyword research across a range of service categories that made sense for a qualified diesel mechanic: mobile servicing, fleet maintenance, roadside assistance, pre-purchase vehicle inspections. We looked at search volume, competition, cost per click, and - most importantly - conversion intent.
Pre-purchase vehicle inspections stood out clearly. High intent (the searcher has a car they're about to buy, they need the inspection done this week), relatively low competition in most markets outside major cities, and a ticket price that made the economics work with modest ad spend.
The business didn't exist. There was no brand, no ABN registered for this purpose, no website, no Google Business Profile, no Google Ads account. We needed to build everything in parallel, fast, because the opportunity window for any individual searcher is narrow. They're buying a car in the next few days. If you're not there when they search, someone else gets the job.
What we did
- Delivered a keyword opportunity report covering five service categories, with search volume, CPC estimates, competition data, and our assessment of which offered the best entry point for his specific background. He chose pre-purchase vehicle inspections.
- Built the brand identity: business name, logo, and a visual identity that positioned the service as professional and credentialed - not a tradie with a checklist, but a qualified mechanic who knows what to look for.
- Built the website in five days: service explainer, what's included in an inspection, pricing, booking form, and credentials front and centre. Fast, mobile-optimised, conversion-focused.
- Set up Google Business Profile, verified location, added services and photos. Local search visibility from day one.
- Launched Google Ads targeting pre-purchase inspection searches with exact and phrase match. Tight geographic targeting matched to his service area.
- Set up conversion tracking on the booking form. Every enquiry tracked before the first dollar was spent.
- First job enquiry came within the first week of going live.
The result
Five days from our first conversation about the opportunity to a live website taking bookings. The first jobs came in within the week.
This case study isn't about a single metric. There's no dramatic before/after revenue number because there was no before. The business did not exist. The point is that it does now, and it's generating work from week one, built on a foundation that actually performs.
What made it work: clear opportunity identification before any money was spent, a website and ads built for conversion rather than presence, and a service that matched genuine market demand with a person who had the credentials to deliver it credibly.
The crane industry lost a good operator. The people buying second-hand cars in Australia are better off for it.
“I knew what I was good at but had no idea how to turn it into a business. Matt found the opportunity in the data, explained why it made sense, built everything, and within a week I had paying customers. I wouldn't have known where to start without that conversation.”
